Rizq

To my lovely daughters,

I hope one day you when you are much bigger, you would understand more what I wrote below :)

I have been listening to this serie of lectures by Shaykh Mirza Yawar Baig titled, Rizq Obtained or Ordained?

This is my second time, or perhaps third.  I could not really remember.  I guess I just love listening to them. It gives me a deeper understanding of what rizq means. And there's always something new to learn and to remind myself of when I listen to the lectures again.

I wanted to share you these verses from Quran shared by Shaykh Mirza,

"And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised.  Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking." [51 : 22-23]

The verses above assure us we shall not worry because Allah has promised  He will provide for us, and our rizq has been ordained.  That we shall ask from Him, and Him alone.  My dear girls, how significant it is for us to have a deep understanding of what rizq means. And this does not take a day or two, for we must regard learning as a constant thing in our lives

I hope you will grasp the understanding (and I remind myself too)  that what ever you do the quantity of your rizq has been ordained for you.  Whether through halal means or haram means the quantity is the same, Allah has ordained it for you.  Your efforts to obtain the rizq that has been ordained for you differ in how you obtain it.  Do you choose the halal means or the haram means?  I pray that Allah will guide you to always choose to obtain your rizq through the halal means.

The shaykh mentioned the similitude of choosing whether the haram or the halal door to obtain our rizq.  Just when we are about to enter the haram door, someone call upon us to take the halal door.  But the halal door is not opened so we decided to enter through the opened haram door.  When actually all we need to do is just to stand in front of the halal door for it will be opened only for us, because nobody can enter that door except us.  The door only recognise us for it is meant for us.

And remember (and I remind myself especially) if Allah provide you with wealth, use it.  Wealth is never to be valued, as the shaykh was saying.  But use it for the benefit of your next life.
