Day 52 | Say Alhamdulillah

Alhamdulillah! "Mommy, I love writing!  Writing is fun!" To hear that from you is such a blessing.  I introduced phonic (reading) to you back when you were  around two or three years old - I could not remember exactly when. But you were not keen.  On language.  Once I kinda pushed you into reading you just could not take it any more you cried.  Then I know it was a signal.  I stopped pushing you that day onwards.  But I did not give up on encouraging you to love reading.

Daddy and Mommy (and Kakak too) always, always read to you, and some time this year it has become a must for you that you go to bed listening to Mommy (or Daddy) reading your favourite books.  Yes, we have to read four to - at times - even more books before you finally dozed off to sleep.  There were days when I was so, so very tired I tried coaxing you to let me read only one or two books.  Sometime you gave in.  Sometime you cried wanting more.  But Masha Allah to see the love you have for books I could not ask for more.  May Allah bless you and Kakak for the love you two have for reading.

Surprisingly, of recent, you have also developed an interest for writing. And you do that on your own will, without me trying to entice you or anything.  Subhanallah!  I'm grateful.  Syukur.

Alhamdulillah someone has found the love for baby-wearing.

On the other note, I just love how this picture turned out I decided not to post-process it further, like I usually do. I just love how the imperfection of lighting - the dim light and the grains - in this picture compliment the emotions in this story.  Just perfect for me.

Day 28 | Say Alhamdulillah

Alhamdulillah sickness indeed is a blessing from Allah to us Muslims.  Remember our favourite book, 'Our Grandad'?  One of the paragraphs definitely is my favourite,

"Do you know what the Blessed Prophet said?" asked Grandad.  He said: No Muslim is afflicted with an ordeal, be it an illness or something else, without Allah thereby causing his sins to drop away just as a tree sheds its leaves,"

Masha Allah isn't that so comforting?  Even illness is actually a good thing for us Muslims, Masha Allah!

And it humbles me every time when one of us fall sick because it reminds me of the many, many days Allah bless us with good health, Subhanallah! Alhamdulillah!

And sweetie, it soothes me to see you find comfort in reading when ill befalls you.  Both, you and adik.

Day 26 | Say Alhamdulillah

Alhamdulillah for despite being sick, you do not complaint much.  Not a word actually. Masha Allah you are such a strong girl.  May Allah speed your recovery little angel.

It was narrated that Subhayb al-Roomi (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his affair is all good, and this applies to no one except the believer. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks and that is good for him, and if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and he will be rewarded for that, so everything that Allaah has decreed for the Muslim is good.” Narrated by Muslim, 2999.

Day 15 | Say Alhamdulillah

Alhamdulillah for the blue sky, for behind the tranquillity and calmness it brings every time we look upon the vastness of blue, it reminds us of how small we are compared to the whole of Universe.

Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein? And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)- To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;- A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising. (50:6-11)

Alhamdulillah for a pair of legs.  a gift from Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful.  The legs that can walk, run, jump, skip and do so many wonderful things.  The legs that can bring us any where we want to go, by the will of Allah.  May Allah make us use our legs to go to places and to do things that will please Him, ameen!

"And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful. And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys." ~ Surah Luqman : 18-19

Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah , over all things, is competent."~ Surah Al Ankabut : 20

Alhamdulillah for this edible plant we grew in our backyard.  These greens called ginseng jawa taste so good.  How great is Allah to create so many greens that are very delicious.  How merciful is Allah to create so many colourful, beautiful and tasty vegetables and fruits for us.  Allah can make our food taste the same, look the same, yet Allah is so kind and loving to us He make us enjoy different kind of food.  We love Allah so very much!  May Allah make us among His grateful servants, ameen.
